About Michael

Where He's Lived….

Michael feels very lucky, as his adult life started after high school, Michael entered the US Navy and has been around the world from California, Hong Kong, Philippines, Hawaii and Diego Garcia just to name a few. Looking to find a home, Michael asked his wife Jo Vernon "Is Ligonier too far from our office?" Michael found the perfect town in Pennsylvania. Ligonier is a small town with a diamond and gazebo that holds the town's charm and hosts a list of events from summer musicals, scarecrow contest, ice festival and a sunrise service on Easter Sunday just to mention a few.

Before Real Estate….

Actually Michael has been in some part of the real estate market since 1998. However, prior to real estate, upon graduating high school Michael joined the US Navy and quickly ascended the ranks and acquired several medals and commendations. After being honorably discharged from the US Navy Michael had learned the leadership skills and confidence to be in any management position and self-employed. Jo and Michael owned and operated a Mortgage Company that is located on Main Street in Ligonier.

What’s the Scariest Thing He's Ever Done?

Michael would have to say it’s when he parachuted out of a perfectly good airplane for the fun of it! Several times! His second most heart pounding experience was when the USS Acadia went to rescue the USS Stark that was attacked by Saddam Hussein by an air to sea missile and then they were threatened by Saddam Hussein to attack and destroy their ship.

Things You Don’t Know About Michael….

Not only does he enjoy long rides on windy country roads, he does this on a green Harley Davidson. Michael is also a technology junkie and almost burned down their house by installing an MP3 player on his motorcycle. Michael's mother committed suicide in 1995 and Michael is dedicated to the awareness of suicide in the community and is starting a support group in Ligonier.

His Family and Nationality….

Michael comes from a large Irish family and has followed his family tree back to 1848 where Michael Cloherty in Gaelway Ireland started the Cloherty Clan. Michael was introduced to his wife Jo, a good Italian girl and one of the best things that ever happened in his life. They married with a theme of “Garlic and Gaelic.” Michael enjoyed having his son Jeremy as a part of that very special day.
